GET LOST WITHIN THE LABYRINTH OF HORTA.

The Labyrinth of Horta …. The magic of the cypresses.

Located in the Horta-Guinardó district, the Horta Labyrinth Park has Barcelona’s oldest conserved garden. Born with the idea of being a neoclassical garden with Italian origins, the garden  turned into a Romantic Style park and a perfect setting to get lost in its labyrinth of perfectly shaped cypress trees.

With its vegetation mainly composed by trees of local interest such as oak,  cedar and even a sequoia, the garden belonged to the Desvalls family  from 1794 until 1971. During those years the works in the garden began. After 1971 the garden became the property of the City Hall and it was inaugurated like a public park.  In the year of 1994 the park turned into in a garden museum in which, up till today, we can observe a diversity of sculptures in neoclassic style, several busts and reliefs, terraces, temples and the palace of the family Desvalls that next to its heraldic fountain is the finishing touch of this splendid garden.

The opening hours of the park are from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from November to March and from 10:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. from April to October with a price of 2.23 € general admission, 1.42 € The reduced and Sundays are free of admission. The address of the park is Passeig dels Castanyers, 1.

Getting lost within the walls of cypresses of the Horta Labyrinth is an experience that every person in Barcelona has enjoyed, in family, with their partner or friends.
