Looking for impressive stairs for your next production? We show you 10 in Barcelona

In Barcelona many are unique in their form and so attractive that they might be the central axis of your next audiovisual production or photographic shooting. Are we going to get them?

Most go unnoticed, hidden from sight or replaced by elevators or escalators. In other cases, they are part of a larger tourist attraction that is valued as a whole and the stairs have a secondary role, especially when you can avoid climbing them.

External and Tourist Locations

In parks, metro stations, tourist attractions and communications towers, Barcelona has a wide variety of stairs of all kinds that can be the ideal setting for your next audiovisual project in the city.

The dragon of the stairs in the Park Güell

The stairs in the Parc Güell are not so special by themselves but what makes them unique is the environment that surrounds them and the lizard of Gaudí that presides over it. If you want to use this location, keep in mind that it will have to be early or at night, the influx of tourists is continuous throughout the day.

The tower of Collserola

It is one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the city of Barcelona. During the year you can visit it the weekends and in the summer from Wednesday to Sunday.

It has an elevator but its 712 steps will also carry up you to the top. The flight of stairs is surrounded by a grid that allows you to see the surroundings: panoramic views of the metropolitan area, the Parc de Collserola and even, if there is no fog, the Cadí-Moixeró mountain range. Ideal for shootings related to more casual and sporty fashion.

Walk down the stairs of Montjuic

Montjuïc is an ideal area if you are looking for stairs. You will find a great variety but some of the most beautiful ones are found in the Paseo of Jean Forestier. With mosaics of blue and gold tiles and fountains on both sides, there are several sections and very easy to locate because they are right next to the MNAC. In total there are here about 200 steps, and it is one of the usual stages of the Salomon Run Barcelona.

The Basilica of the Holy Family

Within one of the most visited tourist attractions of the city await you 427 steps of a lovely spiral staircase in the tower on the Passion facade. From above you can see all of Barcelona but it is not suitable for those who are easily dizzy. If you want to make your next audiovisual project in one of the most significant tourist attractions in the city, this is your place.

Parc de la Ciutadella

The most famous park in Barcelona also has its movie stairs. They appeared as a location in the movie ‘Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona’ with Penélope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson. There are two sections that you can find on both sides of the big waterfall in the park with about 150 steps on each side, from where you can contemplate the extension of the park and its different locations.

Swab Stairs on the stairs of the Barcelona metro

The Swab Stairs project covered the accesses to the Barcelona metro with artistic works in vinyl format in June 2017 and there are still some examples in the accesses to the stations of Passeig de Gràcia, Liceu, Drassanes, Jaume I, Sagrada Familia and Diagonal. To achieve its image in all its splendor, you will have to wait for the month of June 2018 when the next edition is made.

Locations in Barcelona Hotels

A luxury Hall at the Palace

For a shooting or audiovisual production de luxe, you can opt for the staircase of the hall of the Avenue Palace Hotel in the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. Masterful!

Neon lights in the Eixample Ohla

The staircase of the Hotel Ohla Eixample has a striking red neon decoration that does not escape anyone’s eyes. Perfect for the most futuristic audiovisual projects.

Reflections in the H10 Urquinaona Plaza

The H10 Urquinaona Plaza Hotel uses crystals to increase the elegance of its stairs and create a rather aesthetic effect for your most elegant and exclusive shootings.

The spiral staircase in the Cotton House

The Cotton House Hotel in the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes is famous for its spiral staircase, decorated with colourful lamps in the form of soccer balls that seem to float free in the air.
